Over 3.5 mil foreign visitors enter VN in 10 months

VGP – According to a recent report given by the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), in the early ten months of 2008, the number of foreign guests surpassed 3.5 million, soaring 3.5% against the same period in 2007.

As of late October, Việt Nam welcomed over 2.2 million foreign tourists.

With 2.2 million, the overseas tourists made up a 2.7% increase against the last year figure.

Compared to 2007, foreign visitors traveled to Việt Nam by air, land and sea in the first ten months were 2.8 million (up 2.7%), 678,800 (up 18.8%), and 127,500 (down 32.4%) respectively.

Some countries with sharp growth in terms of arrivals were the Philippines (up 46%), Finland (up 39.7%), Norway (up 34%), and Sweden (up 28.4%).

The traditional markets kept their high growth rate, including  China, the US, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
