Non Nuoc Cao Bang wins GGN Best Practices Award
VGP - Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Park in the northern province of Cao Bang has won the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) Best Practices Award.

The recognition was announced at the 11th International Conference of the GGN, held at Kutralkura UNESCO Global Geopark which is taking place in Chile, from September 5-15.
The 11th GGN Conference brought together around 1,000 delegates, including representatives from UNESCO Global Geoparks, researchers, scientists, politicians, and managers.
The conference serves as a forum for geoparks to meet, share experiences, and present effective models and practical solutions for building and developing geopark status in line with UNESCO criteria.
The event also reaffirms the unifying role of the GGN in preserving and promoting heritage values in line with sustainable development goals.
In 2018, the Non Nuoc CaoBang geopark was recognized the Global Geopark. Since then, the northern mountainous province has actively participated in activities of the world's geopark network and international cooperation. Cao Bang has invested in and put into operation four tourist routes to the geopark, while preserving and promoting geological heritage values and indigenous culture, as well as protecting the environment according to the criteria and recommendations of UNESCO experts.
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, it is a well-deserved recognition of the province's persistent efforts in preserving and promoting the value of geological heritage, landscapes, culture, and ethnic languages within the geopark area, while fostering sustainable tourism development.
It has helped turn the region into an attractive destination and contributed to promoting the image of Viet Nam and its people to international friends.
The GGN Best Practices Award aims to promote, enhance and encourage the development of innovative initiatives inside the Global Geoparks of UNESCO.
The award recognizes pioneering practices and initiatives that contribute to a more effective and dynamic network, set fantastic exemplars for others to follow and emulate, and create greater public recognition of the UNESCO Global Geoparks.
The prize honors the management or a partner of a UNESCO Global Geopark for the pioneering nature and quality of the initiative, encouraging all the GGN members to work in the same line./.
