Non-cash payment maintains strong growth momentum
VGP - Non-cash payment in Viet Nam over the last nine months of the year saw increases of 43.32 percent in the number of transactions and 24.23 percent in total value compared to the same period last year.

According to the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV), during January-September, Internet-based transactions rose by 51.2 percent in volume and 37.17 percent in value.
Mobile phone transactions increased by 37.37 percent in volume and 21.79 percent in value.
QR Code transactions surged by 61.63 percent in volume and an impressive 150.67 percent in value, reflecting the growing popularity of fast and convenient payment methods.
The interbank electronic payment systems recorded growth of 4.56 percent in transaction volume and 46.87 percent in value, while the financial switching and electronic clearing systems saw increases of 19.14 percent in volume and 5.87 percent in value.
Meanwhile, ATM transactions declined by 16.77 percent in volume and 5.74 percent in value, showing a clear decrease in cash withdrawal demand as people increasingly shift toward modern electronic payment methods.
As of the end of September 2025, there were more than 10.89 million registered and active Mobile Money accounts, with about 7.5 million accounts (making up 70 percent) belonging to users in rural, mountainous, and remote areas.
The total number of transactions made via Mobile Money accounts exceeded 290.43 million, with a total transaction value of approximately VND 8,511 billion (over US$323 million)./.
