Nine Vietnamese universities meet int’l accreditation standards
VGP - Nine Vietnamese universities meet international accreditation standards, an increase of two compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
They are Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology under Viet Nam National University (VNU)-Ho Chi Minh City, University of Science and Technology under Da Nang University, Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Ha Noi University of Civil Engineering; University of Science under VNU-Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City based-Ton Duc Thang University and International University under VNU-Ho Chi Minh City.
Two new universities in the list are University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi based- British University Viet Nam.
These educational facilities are assessed by four foreign organizations, namely High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES), the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Network, the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
Meanwhile, up to 183 universities and 11 colleges satisfy the national standard on educational quality, the ministry said.
Viet Nam has 11 universities listed in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 released by UK-based education organization Quacquarelli Symonds.
Specifically, Ton Duc Thang University ranked 138th in Asia and first in Viet Nam. It was closely followed by the Duy Tan University, Viet Nam National University-Ha Noi and Viet Nam National University-Ho Chi Minh City at 145th, 162nd and 167th position, respectively.
Ha Noi University of Science and Technology is placed 248th. Hue University ranks in the 351-400 group, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in 401-450 and University of Da Nang in 501-550.
The remaining Vietnamese universities in the 2023 rankings are Can Tho University and Ha Noi National University of Education in the group of 551-600 and the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in the 651-700 group.
In addition, four Vietnamese universities have been listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2023 which was released on July 3.
They are Duy Tan University, Ton Duc Thang University, Viet Nam National University-Ha Noi (VNU), and Viet Nam National University–HCM City (VNU-HCM)./.
