The launch of the online Korean-language edition of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the central organ of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, aims to respond to growing international interest in Viet Nam, particularly among Korean-language users worldwide.
The event represents a concrete step in implementing the Party and State’s policy on strengthening external information, and meets the practical need for an official information channel in one of the world’s fastest-growing languages. Its target readership includes Korean nationals and Korean-speaking audiences worldwide, Vietnamese people proficient in Korean, and Vietnamese communities living in the RoK and elsewhere.
It also includes publicising achievements of the renewal process; promoting the image of Viet Nam and its people; and selectively reflecting all aspects of the country’s situation in ways that best serve national and ethnic interests, including providing valuable information to help protect maritime sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The publication also places emphasis on in-depth coverage of friendly and cooperative relations between Viet Nam and other countries, particularly Viet Nam–RoK relations. It employs modern technology platforms, with carefully edited, continuously updated content that ensures accuracy, timeliness, and depth, tailoured to international readers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association, said that alongside Nhan Dan Online in Vietnamese, foreign-language editions such as Nhan Dan Online in English, French, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish have made important contributions to disseminating the Party’s guidelines and policies, as well as the State’s laws and regulations, to a wide audience both at home and abroad, including overseas Vietnamese communities.
Minh also noted that the launch of the online Korean-language edition of Nhan Dan Newspaper further enhances the effectiveness of the Party’s and State’s external communications; provides an official and reliable information channel for Korean readers and Korean-speaking communities worldwide; and contributes to promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and the RoK.
The website also contributes to expanding the media space for portraying an image of Viet Nam as a peaceful, stable, dynamic, and developing country; supporting efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests; and strengthening trust, mutual understanding, and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries.
Addressing the ceremony, Member of the PCC and Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation Ngo Dong Hai affirmed that this is a significant event not only for Nhan Dan Newspaper but also for Viet Nam’s external communications efforts and its international integration process in the new period.
Hai said bilateral relations between Viet Nam and the RoK have been continuously strengthened and expanded in recent years, becoming increasingly in-depth, substantive, and effective. The RoK is now one of Viet Nam’s leading and most important partners across all fields. In this context, the role of the press and media, particularly official press agenices, carries special significance.
The launch of the Korean-language edition of Nhan Dan Online will enable the Korean community living and working in Viet Nam, as well as Korean-speaking readers worldwide, to access comprehensive, accurate, and authoritative information about Viet Nam, he added. It will contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting cooperation in trade and investment, culture, and social connectivity between the two countries.
He asked Nhan Dan Newspaper to continue promoting its role as a key, multimedia news agency in the field of external communications. The newspaper should place strong emphasis on comprehensively and in depth publicising the achievements of the Doi Moi (Renewal) process; vividly and fully presenting the image of Viet Nam as well as its land and people; and providing both general and selective coverage of socio-economic development.

She expressed her belief that the Nhan Dan online Korean-language edition will not only serve as an information channel, but will also become a trusted destination, a reliable companion, and a strong and enduring bridge connecting the hearts, intellects, and emotions of the peoples of Viet Nam and the RoK.
Highlighting the close cooperation between the RoK and Viet Nam, Ambassador of the RoK to Viet Nam Choi Young Sam said the two countries achieved numerous accomplishments across all fields, including politics, economy, diplomacy, and culture. Notably, bilateral relations have been being promoted in a stronger and more comprehensive manner.
He noted that as the central organ of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the most influential media outlet in the country, the official launch of Nhan Dan Newspaper’s Korean-language edition represents a symbolic step, demonstrating that Viet Nam consistently regards the RoK as an important partner.
As the Party’s newspaper, Nhan Dan has consistently upheld its mission of disseminating the Party’s guidelines and policies, and the State’s laws and policies; shaping public opinion; countering false and hostile information; and promoting the image of a friendly, peaceful, and developing Viet Nam.
With the launch of Korean-language news website, Nhan Dan Newspaper continues to affirm its pioneering role in external communication, while creating an additional important bridge to bring Viet Nam’s image, people, and policies closer to the international community.
Over more than 27 years of establishment and development, Nhan Dan Online in Vietnamese, English, French, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish has played an important role in communicating the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws to the domestic public as well as overseas Vietnamese communities.
As a publication of Nhan Dan Newspaper, online Korean-language version focuses on disseminating the leadership guidelines of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the State’s policies and laws; combating erroneous viewpoints; and safeguarding the Party and the political system./.
