Nha Trang to host first events of APEC 2017

VGP – A delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung, on November 1 held a working session with leaders of Khanh Hoa Province on preparations for organizing events within the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Viet Nam 2017.

Accordingly, Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa Province will hold the first APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 1) from February 18 to March 3 next year. SOM 1 will include more than 80 meetings with the participation of about 2,500 delegates.

The city will also be the host for a meeting of APEC Deputy Finance Ministers and another of Deputy Governors of APEC Central Banks.

Currently, the city has full conditions on infrastructure to meet the demand for organizing these events.

The province will soon set up a local steering committee to launch works on contents, materials, logistics, reception, security and health and communications to ensure the rate of progress and quality set by the Government, said Vice Chairman of the province’s People’s Committee Nguyen Duy Bac.
