Nguyen Van Quang re-elected as Chief Justice

VGP – The National Assembly re-elected Nguyen Van Quang as new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on Tuesday at the first session of the 16th National Assembly.

Nguyen Van Quang, aged 57, was born in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

He started his career at the People's Procuracy of Hai Phong City in September 1990.

He was appointed Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy in September 2018 and served as Standing Vice Secretary of Da Nang Municipal Party Committee between December 31, 2019 to October 2020, and Secretary of Da Nang Municipal Party Committee from November 2020 to September 2025.

From September 2025 to November 2025, he served as Standing Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.

In November 2025, he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the post as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court./.
