Nguyen Duy Ngoc serves as Secretary of Party Committee of Ha Noi Capital Command
VGP - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc has been appointed as the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Capital Command for the 2025–2030 term at a ceremony held on December 6.

The event was attended by Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army Le Quang Dao and Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People's Army Le Quang Minh.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Vu Dai Thang has been assigned to serve as a member of the Party Committee of the Capital Command for the 2025–2030 term.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang highly praised Ha Noi and the Capital Command for ensuring the safety and stability of the capital over the past years, as well as for successfully fulfilling military and defense tasks in 2025.
In reply, the capital's leader Nguyen Duy Ngoc expressed his sincere gratitude to the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Minister of National Defense for their attention, leadership, and guidance in carrying out the capital's military and defense tasks in 2025.
He acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the Capital Command in fulfilling its military and defense tasks in 2025.
Nguyen shared major development directions for Ha Noi in 2026, including the target of achieving GRDP growth of 11 percent or higher.
To accomplish these goals and tasks, Ha Noi is focusing on finalizing institutional frameworks to implement major development projects for the capital, such as the construction of the Red River Boulevard project and the Olympic-standard complex, and the development of underground space associated with the capital's overall growth.
The city has also identified science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of development in the coming period, he noted.
Nguyen expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support of the Ministry of National Defense for Ha Noi, affirming that the city will adopt and direct relevant agencies to effectively implement the instructions given by the Minister of National Defense at the working session.
Earlier on November 4, the Politburo assigned Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc as new Secretary of Ha Noi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.
Nguyen Duy Ngoc, a Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, was born in 1964 in the northern province of Hung Yen.
Nguyen was former Deputy Minister of Public Security and Chief of the Party Central Office.
On November 28, the Ha Noi Municipal People's Council unanimously elected Vu Dai Thang as Chairman of the Municipal People's Committee after the Politburo appointed him as Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee.
Vu Dai Thang assumes the new position from his previous role as Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Vu Dai Thang was born in 1975 in Ha Noi. He holds a Master's degree in International Relations, a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in Law, and has an advanced level of political theory./.
