New permanent member of Party Central Committee’s Secretariat named

VGP - The Politburo has assigned Tran Cam Tu, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, as new permanent member of the 13th Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.

General Secretary To Lam hands over the Politburo's decision to assign Tran Cam Tu as new permanent member of the 13th Party Central Committee's Secretariat in Ha Noi, October 25, 2024

Tran, aged 63, takes over the new role from his predecessor Luong Cuong who was elected by law-makers as President of Viet Nam earlier this week.

Tran became an alternate member of the 10th Party Central Committee since April 2006 before becoming a member of the 11th , 12th and 13th Party Central Committee.

He served as Secretary of the Thai Binh provincial Party Committee from August 2011, Vice Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission since January 2015, and then Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission from January 2016.

He was elected Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission at the 7th plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee in May 2018.

He was elected to the Politburo, and re-elected Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission in January 2021./.
