New Ha Noi Party Secretary appointed

Born in 1973 in the northern province of Phu Tho, Tran Duc Thang holds a doctorate and a master's degree in economics, along with a bachelor's degree in finance and banking. He is currently a member of the 14th Politburo.

He began his career at the Ministry of Finance since January 1995. In October 2018, he was appointed Director-General of the Public Asset Management Department under the Ministry of Finance.

He served as Vice Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission from June 2020 to October 2022; Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee from October 2022 to June 2025; Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate from July 1, 2025 to July 16, 2025; Minister of Agriculture and Environment from July 2025 to April 2026./.
