The association aims to connect regulatory agencies, businesses, organizations, and individuals operating in the data sector and build a robust data ecosystem, contributing to promoting digital economy and increasing the value of data in the national economy.

It will serve as a bridge between businesses, building a diverse and stable data ecosystem to meet the demands of sustainable digital transformation across all sectors. It will also lay the foundation for the country to enter a new digital era, said Minister of Public Security.

Addressing the event, General Secretary To Lam noted that the establishment of the National Data Association is of great significance, serving as an extended arm of the Party and State and a flagship organization in implementing Resolution No. 57, with a view to transforming Viet Nam into a digital nation driven by data.

He urged the association to propose legal frameworks to facilitate data circulation, connectivity, sharing, and optimal utilization while ensuring data security, safety, and sovereignty.

To particularly reminded the association to master and advance core data technologies, including artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, and cloud computing, and to build a national data market, to support research, startups, and innovation, and to create data-driven products and services to drive socio-economic development.

The Party chief underlined the need to develop a National Open AI Platform, enable businesses to easily access and apply artificial intelligence, while also promoting data literacy among citizens.

He asked for speeding up advanced data infrastructure development, including data centers invested in by both the state and private enterprises.

It is necessary to ensure data security by developing data security systems and products, advancing data security services, establishing standards for data security, and fostering an industry in this field, told the leader.

The Party and the State will create all favorable conditions and provide maximum support for the development of the data sector, enabling Viet Nam to soon become a digital nation, a digital society, and a prosperous digital economy, asserted To./.
