National COVID-19 tally surpasses 700,000
VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 11,692 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, raising the national patient tally to 707,436.

The national caseload includes 702,972 locally transmitted cases recorded in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave began.
Eighteen out of the above localities have gone 14 days without a single infection: Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Hai Dương, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Bac Giang, Kon Tum, Thai Binh, and Lang Son.
Ho Chi Minh City remains the biggest hotspot with 348,220 confirmed cases, followed by Binh Duong (183,314), Dong Nai (41,432), Long An (30,850), and Tien Giang (13,375).
The same day, the ministry reported 11,017 new recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 475,343. Among the current positive cases, 5,133 are in critical health conditions.
The country’s death toll rose to 17,545 after the ministry announced further 240 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (184), Binh Duong (41), Kien Giang (3), Binh Thuan (3), Long An (2), Khanh Hoa (1), Ha Tinh (1), An Giang (1), Da Nang (1), Binh Phuoc (1), and Tien Giang (2).
