National biodiversity strategy through 2030 approved
VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has signed Decision No. 149/QD-TTg approving national biodiversity strategy to 2030, vision to 2050.

Under the strategy, the Government targets to increase the area of protected ecosystems to 9 percent of the country's land surface, marine protected areas to 3-5 percent of the sea area.
The forest coverage is expected to sustain at 42-43 percent and at least 20 percent of the degraded ecosystem will be restored.
The Government will give priority to conservation of wildlife species, particularly endangered, rare and precious species of plants and animals./.
