National Assembly to hold 3rd extraordinary meeting
VGP - The National Assembly (NA) will convene the third extraordinary meeting on January 18 to consider personnel affairs under its authority, according to NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong.
The move is made in accordance with the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the revised Law on Organization of the NA, NA session regulations issued in the NA's Resolution No. 102/2015/QH13 dated November 24, 2015.
On January 17, the 13th Party Central Committee convened a meeting to consider and give opinions to the wish to cease holding his positions, to stop working, and to retire by Nguyen Xuan Phuc, member of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee in the 13th tenure, President of Viet Nam, and Chairman of the Council of National Defence and Security for the 2021-2026 tenure.
The second extraordinary meeting of the 15th legislative body concluded on January 9 after four days of working.
Legislators adopted the draft revised Law on Medical Examination and Treatment and three resolutions, including one on the national master plan for 2021-2030 with a vision towards 2050.
They also agreed to extend a number of COVID-19 prevention and control policies and allow the continued use of circulation registrations of medicines and medicinal ingredients, which expired on January 1, 2023, until December 31, 2024. Adjustments were also made to loan plans for different provinces and cities.
Regarding the personnel work, the lawmakers decided to relieve two NA deputies from their posts, and approved the dismissal of two Deputy Prime Ministers, and the appointment of two Deputy Prime Ministers – Tran Hong Ha and Tran Luu Quang./.
