Multidimensional poverty rate falls to 1%
VGP - VGP – Viet Nam's multidmensional poverty rate fell to about 1 percent in 2024 from 4.3 percent in 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Wednesday.

The country's human development index in 2024 increased by 8 places to 107th out of 193 countries, according to a report by the United Nations Development Program.
Viet Nam has achieved the goal of universal preschool education for five-year-old children, increased the enrollment rate of primary school-aged children to 99.7 percent and the completion rate of lower secondary eduction program to 90.7 percent.
The average life expectancy rose to 74.5 in 2023 from 65.5 in 1993, considerably high for countries at similar income levels./.
