The central region experiences an exceptionally severe spell of flooding and heavy rainfall, causing significant loss of life and property, with many households isolated

Specifically, Hue City and Quang Ngai Province will be allocated with VND100 billion each while Gia Lai Province and Dak Lak Province will receive VND 300 billion and VND200 billion, respectively.

The financial support aims to supplement resources for rebuilding collapsed houses, repairing roof-damaged houses, arranging stable resettlement in urgent disaster-affected areas, and restoring essential infrastructure in the fields of education, healthcare, transportation and irrigation.

The municipal/provincial People's Committees shall be responsible for arranging local funding, together with the funds supported by the central budget and other lawful financial resources, to implement urgent tasks for remedying disaster consequences in accordance with regulations.

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment has reported that recent natural disasters in the areas from Ha Tinh to Dak Lak have left 90 people dead and missing and 273 injuries.

Besides, 1,900 houses were collapsed or swept away and 227,847 houses were damaged or roof-blown.

Meanwhile, 160,715 hectares of rice and crops were destroyed and 3,570 livestock and over 452,000 poultry were killed.

Total estimated losses amount to nearly VND30,000 billion (US$1.14 billion)./.
