MOLISA proposes to raise social assistance standard level to VND500,000
VGP - Social assistance standard level should be increased from VND360,000 (US$14.67) to VND500,000, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has proposed.

If the proposal is approved this July, the Government needs to allocate additional VND 4.7 trillion to implement the policy as compared to 2023.
The new policy targets to ensure the social assistance increase under a roadmap in correlation with other social policies, maintaining fairness among groups in particularly difficult circumstances so that no one is left behind.
It is also consistent with the budget allocation for social security and meets the minimum living standard for social protection beneficiaries.
According to the ministry, the total number of people currently receiving monthly social assistance surpasses 3.35 million./.
