VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh tasked the Ministry of Health to ensure adequate supply of COVID-19 booster shots.

December 29, 2021 3:37 PM GMT+7

In a recent document, the Government chief assigned the Ministry of Health to consider proposals of businesses on COVID-19 vaccine supply to stockpile adequate vaccine doses for booster shots.

If there is a shortage of vaccines, the ministry must bear the responsibility, while leaders of localities must be held accountable for achieving vaccination targets.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reiterated the target of completing the inoculation of the second dose for people who are 18 years and older by December 31, 2021 (excluding contraindication cases). It is vital to not leave out cases that need to be vaccinated, especially people with underlying diseases, people over 50 years old; complete the 2nd injection for people aged 12 to 18 years old in January 2022, the 3rd dose for people 18 years of age and older in the first quarter of 2022.

As of December 28, the nation administered 147,271,054 COVID-19 vaccine doses./.
