Metfone becomes Cambodia’s most valuable telecom brand

VGP - Metfone, which is a brand of Vietnamese telecomoperator Viettel Group became the most valuable telecom brand in Cambodia in 2016, according to the Brand Finance.

The London-based Brand Finance calculates brand strength in three criteria, including brand name power, business operation, and external factors. 
 
The brand value jumped by more than 10% in one year, maintaining its place as the only Cambodian telecom brand among the top 30 in the region.
 
Metfone’s brand value rose from US$85 million last year to US$94 million in 2016, making it more than twice as valuable as its nearest competitor. Brand Finance also found that Metfone’s brand value is growing at the fastest pace. 
 
Viettel (Cambodia) was established on June 1, 2006 and registered a capital of US$5 million. Metfone is a brand name of Viettel (Cambodia) PTE, Ltd. Metfone has launched its services since October, 2008. Its network covers 90% of areas in Cambodia includes Urban Areas and Rural Areas. So far, the company has invested US$100 million to implement and manage a wide and high quality network with about 3000 BTS through all 25 provinces./.
