Marksman take golds from regional shooting champs
VGP —Vietnamese athletes brought home three gold medals from the ongoing Southeast Asian Shooting Championship in Thailand.

Ha Minh Thanh secured his title in the men's individual 25m pistol event. The 31st Southeast Asian Games champion met no difficulty to earn a slot in the final round.
He scored highest 27 points to take his gold. Marksman Ram Khamhaeng of the hosts came second with 23 points.
Later, Thanh and his teammates -- Phan Cong Minh and Phan Xuan Chuyen -- pocketed a total of 1,697 points to top the team event.
Earlier, Le Thi Mong Tuyen advanced to the women's 10m air rifle event where she faced strong rivals including Ho Xiu Yi of Singapore.
Tuyen who ranked sixth in the recent Asian championship outstood her rival to claim a gold with 17 points while Ho finished second.
The championship began on December 1 and will close on December 12.
The Vietnamese team also earned on silver in the men's 10m air pistol by Pham Quang Huy who scored 11 points in the final, six less than the champion Kettikul Sudkhet of Thailand.
After five days, Viet Nam have five golds and temporally place second. Thailand are on top with 11 golds.
The 44th tournament lures athletes from Viet Nam, Chinese Taipei, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines and the hosts. It will close on December 12./.
