Legislature confirms new leaders of health, construction ministries

VGP - Legislators on Friday confirmed two persons nominated by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh as new Cabinet ministers.

Specifically, the legislators cast votes to approve Dao Hong Lan as new Minister of Health.

Dao was appointed Acting Minister of Health by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 15, 2022, replacing his predecessor Nguyen Thanh Long who was arrested for his involvement in Viet A Technology Corporation's gouging of COVID-19 test kit prices.

Dao, aged 51, served as Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee from September 2020 to July 14, 2022.

The legislature also cast votes to confirm Nguyen Van Thang as the next Minister of Transport, replacing his predecessor Nguyen Van The.

Nguyen was promoted to the new role from his previous position as Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee from October 2020./.
