Lawmakers vote to elect new Deputy Prime Ministers

VGP – The National Assembly on Thursday voted to elect Secretary of the Party Committee of Hai Phong City Tran Luu Quang as new Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Tran Luu Quang was born in 1967 in the Southern province of Tay Ninh. He served as Standing Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tay Ninh province, Chairman of the People's Council of Tay Ninh province, and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City before taking the role as Secretary of Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee.

The legislative body also voted to elect Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha as new Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Tran Hong Ha was born in 1963 in the central province of Ha Tinh. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in 2008 and served as Deputy Secretary of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee from January 2009 to June 2010.

From July 2010 to April 2016, He was Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment before taking the role as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment from April 2016.

The Government is now led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who is assisted by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha./.
