Latvia to transfer 200,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Viet Nam
VGP – Latvia has planned to transfer 200,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Latvian Parliament.
The move, seen as a noble gesture of the Latvian Parliament, Government, and people to Viet Nam, came after National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent a letter to the parliaments of the European countries to call for COVID-19 vaccine support while he attended the fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament (WCSP5) in Vienna, Austria in September.
Chairman Vuong has sent a thank-you letter to Speaker of Parliament of Latvia Inara Murniece for the valuable assistance.
In September, Poland and Hungary provided Viet Nam with 3 million and 400,000 idle doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, respectively.
By October 9, the Southeast Asian country administered over 53.23 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with more than 14.97 million people now fully vaccinated./.
