Lao Party General Secretary, President congratulates Vietnamese counterpart
VGP - General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on August 3 sent a letter of congratulations to President To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and himself, the Lao leader expressed his honor and delight to extend the warmest congratulations to comrade To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam at the meeting of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam on August 3.
"Your election to this important position reflects the trust and high appreciation that the Party, the State, and the people of Viet Nam have in your capabilities, abundant experience, and outstanding achievements in the leadership and direction over the past time", he wrote.
He expressed his firm belief that under the correct, sound, and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, headed by Comrade, the brotherly Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater accomplishments in the cause of renewal, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, and fulfill the goal of building Viet Nam into a modernity-oriented industrialized country with a rich people, strong nation, just, democratic, and civilized society and ultimately becoming a socialist-orientated developed country.
In his letter, Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed his commitment to stand side by side with Comrade and leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State to continue strengthening and nurturing the Laos-Viet Nam, Viet Nam-Laos great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation in a more intensive and effective way in all areas to bring practical benefits to the people of our two countries as well as contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world./.
