The event will consist of numerous attractive activities, especially contests to identify the sound of various gongs and enquire about the local gong culture.

It will also honor gong artisans, who make active contributions to preserving and developing the special art form. There will include a horse race and folk games.

Earlier, UNESCO recognized Vietnamese gong culture as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Gong cultures include two main types of the instruments, cong and chieng. Cong gongs have a knob in the middle and deliver a deep bass sound, while the chieng gong is more melodious./.
