Labor exports recover strongly in Jan-Feb
VGP - Viet Nam sent 28,500 workers abroad in the first two months of this year, or 25.8 percent of the country's initial whole year plan and 20 times higher than the figure recorded in the same period last year.
According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Taiwan was the largest importer of Vietnamese manpower with 14,600 workers, followed by Japan 12,500 workers.
In February alone, 6,601 Vietnamese were contracted to work abroad, including 2,626 females, 13 times higher than the same period last year. Japan employed the largest number of Vietnamese workers with 3,470. Taiwan came next with 2,690. Other manpower importers were Singapore (141), the Republic of Korea (81 ), China (69), Hong Kong (38), Romani (37) and Hungary (35).
About 142,780 Vietnamese people left the home land to work abroad in 2022, the highest number over the past 3 years.
Also in 2022, Viet Nam signed labor cooperation agreements with a number of European countries such as Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
Viet Nam expects to send about 110,000 laborers to work abroad this year./.
