VGP - A southwestern waterways month titled “Khmer ethnic minority group and southern specific culture” is running at the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Ha Noi.

August 11, 2016 3:15 PM GMT+7
Traditional festivals of ethnic minority groups will be reinstated during the festival.

A wide range of activities are scheduled during the tree-day festival including how to make “banh xeo”(sizzling cake), “bun nuoc leo” (rice vermicelli noodle soup in savoury broth with fish, roast pork and shrimp), “banh gung” (ginger cake), and “banh ong” (tube cake).

In addition, exhibitions wil take place featuring items used by Khmer people and photographs depicting their floating life which revolves around rivers and canals.

Khmer ethnic minority people are developing well, and have gained significant achievements in building new hamlets.

The event will run until August 21.
