Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein embarks on official visit to Viet Nam
VGP - Jordanian King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein arrived in Ha Noi on November 12 afternoon, beginning a two-day official visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of State President Luong Cuong.

The King was welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Chairman of the Presidential Office Le Khanh Hai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE and Jordan Nguyen Thanh Diep.
This is the first visit by the Head of State of the Kingdom of Jordan to Viet Nam, and also the first exchange of delegations at the Head of State or Government level between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The visit marks a historic milestone in bilateral relations, opening a new phase of cooperation and laying the groundwork for promoting collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein's visit is of great significance, taking place as the two countries celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations (August 9, 1980 – August 9, 2025).
During his stay, the King is scheduled to hold talks with State President Luong Cuong, witness the signing of several cooperation documents, meet with other key Vietnamese leaders, deliver a speech at the Viet Nam–Jordan Business Forum, and attend a textile industry roundtable.
Viet Nam and Jordan established diplomatic relations on August 9, 1980, and have consistently supported each other at regional and international forums.
In 2024, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$188.14 million. Viet Nam’s exports to Jordan totaled US$180.53 million, with key items including agricultural and aquatic products, electronic products and components, fabrics, chemical products, wood products, plastic goods, and machinery and tools.
As of the end of September 2025, Jordan had five active investment projects in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of US$1 million, ranking 108th among 153 countries and territories investing in the country./.
