IOF Secretary-General to pay official visit to Viet Nam next week
VGP - Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) Louise Mushikiwabo will pay an official visit to Viet Nam from March 21-26 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.

The head of La Francophonie will be accompanied by a delegation of businessmen with an aim to promote economic and trade cooperation with Viet Nam.
Earlier, at a meeting with Louise Mushikiwabo during his official visit to France last November, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Viet Nam attaches importance to its cooperative relations with the Francophone community and actively contributes to its common activities.
The OIF General-Secretary highly appreciated Viet Nam's role and its responsible and effective contributions to the Francophone community, as well as enhancing the image of the Francophone community in the Asia-Pacific region, including its hosting of the 7th Francophone Summit in 1997.
She also praised Viet Nam's role as the coordinator to successfully build the Francophone Economic Cooperation Strategy for the 2020-2025 period and welcomed Viet Nam's participation in UN peacekeeping operations, especially in Francophone countries.
Louise Mushikiwabo served as Foreign Minister of Rwanda before being elected as Secretary-General of the IOF, a group of 88 French-speaking nations, in Erevan, Armenia on October 12, 2018./.
