Int’l travel expo opens in HCMC

VGP – The 15th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2019) officially opened on September 5 in the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

The opening ceremony drew the attendance of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, among others.

Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said that the ITE HCMC not only advertizes tourism potentials but also introduces culture and people of Viet Nam to international friends. 

Under the theme “Tourism gateway to Asia,” ITE HCMC features 315 booths and introduces destinations and tourism products of Viet Nam and countries in the Asia – Pacific region.

Tourism products like leisure tourism, conference and workshop tourism, cuisine tourism and health care tourism will be introduced at the event.

The event includes a meeting of 1,000 managing directors of travel firms, Cambodia night and Khanh Hoa night. 

Earlier, a gala themed Huong sac Viet Nam (Soulful Viet Nam) was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism on September 4 to kick off the ITE HCMC./.
