Int’l cruise passengers flock to Viet Nam
VGP - Since early March, the number of international cruise passengers to Viet Nam has been on the rise, signaling positive signs for the local tourism industry.

Malta-flagged cruise ship Mein Schiff 5 docked at Ha Long international port in the northern province of Quang Ninh on March 26, carrying 2,191 European visitors to the locality.
This is the third time the cruise ship has brought European tourists to Ha Long since March. The return of high-class cruise ship shows a positive sign of the cruise passenger market in particular and international tourists in general.
The visitors explored a number of famous local landscapes such as the UNESCO-recognised World Natural Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Museum, as well as the local culture and cuisine in Ha Long City before leaving for other destinations in the evening of the same day.
In March, Ms Seven Sea Explore, Silver Muse, Silver Whisper, and Borealis stopped over in Nha Trang, bringing a total of 3,100 foreign holidaymakers to the central city.
The south-central province of Khanh Hoa is set to receive nine cruise ships in the first six months of 2023, of which three already came in February.
That a number of luxury cruise ships due to arrive in Nha Trang, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, shows Nha Trang is an ideal destination for cruise ship travelers in Viet Nam.
Earlier, Saigontourist Travel Service Company welcomed the arrival of the Spectrum of the Seas of the U.S. Royal Caribbean on February 26 at Phu My Port in Ba Ria Vung Tau Province, with 3,500 foreign visitors.
Besides 1,577 crewmembers and serving personnel, the ship carried more than 3,800 foreign tourists, most of them from the US, the UK, Australia, and Singapore, according to the province’s border guard force.
Spectrum of the Seas is the 7th international cruise ship and the one that carried the largest number of tourists to visit Ba Ria-Vung Tau province so far this year.
The return of high-class cruise ships to Viet Nam shows that the cruise passenger market in particular and international tourists in general promises to grow strongly in the coming time.
Previously, the number of foreign tourists arriving in Viet Nam in February reached 933,000, up 7.1 percent compared to January, according to the latest report from the General Statistics Office (GSO)./.
