Indian expert among five new imported cases of Covid-19
VGP – Viet Nam confirmed five new imported cases of Covid-19 on Friday, bringing the patient tally to 1,212.
The latest patients include four Vietnamese repatriated from Japan, Russia and France and the other is an Indian national.
Patient 1,208 is a 38-year-old Indian man who flew from India to Cam Ranh airport in Khanh Hoa Province on October 22 on flight 8M202 after transiting in Myanmar’s Yangoon airport.
He first tested negative on October 23 but his second test on November 5 showed he is positive for the virus.
The patient is being treated at the locality’s Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Patients 1,209 and 1,210 were repatriated from Japan on November 3 and quarantined in Nha Trang town of Khanh Hoa Province.
Patient 1,209 is a 32-year-old man from Kim Thanh District, Hai Duong Province.
Patient 1,210 is a 29-year old man from Cam Pha town, Quang Ninh Province.
Patient 1,211 is a 54-year-old man from Tay Ho District, Ha Noi. He was brought home from Russia on October 31 and quarantined in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Province.
He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.
Patient 1,212 is a 50-year-old woman from District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
She took flight VN5010 from France to Ho Chi Minh City on October 21 and was sent to a concentrated quarantine camp in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The woman is being treated at a medical center in the locality’s Long Dien District.
The same day, patient 1,148 was declared free of Covid-19, raising the total recoveries to 1,070.
So far, Viet Nam reported 35 Covid-19 fatalities./.
