India hails Viet Nam’s rising role in international arena

VGP – India attaches special importance to Viet Nam’s rising role in ASEAN and international arena, said Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

Jaishankar made the above statement on Friday at his meeting with Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue in New Delhi.

Indian Foreign Minister said both Viet Nam and India should step up consultation and closer coordination amid fast, complicated and unpredictable development across the world.

He expressed his wish that Viet Nam would continue playing a role in forging closer ties between India and ASEAN.

Top Vietnamese legislator affirmed Viet Nam treasures the comprehensive strategic partnership with India and welcomed India for regarding Viet Nam as a priority partner in its Act East Policy.

Both sides discussed regional and international issues of shared interest, including ASEAN-India relations and recent developments in the East Sea.

They affirmed their continued support for efforts to settle differences through peaceful measures in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, for peace, cooperation, stability and development in the region and the world./.
