Hong Kong to relax visa rules for Viet Nam
VGP – Hong Kong started to relax visa rules for Vietnamese visitors from October 25, the Chief Executive announced in his policy address 2023.
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee has announced that Hong Kong will relax the visa policy in respect of employment for Vietnamese talents and the criteria for Vietnamese applying for "multiple‑entry visas" for business and travel, starting from October 25.
In March this year, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has announced it would be giving away 80,000 round-trip air tickets to residents in Southeast Asian countries, including 8,800 tickets for Vietnamese residents.
The initiative is part of a campaign sponsored by the Airport Authority Hong Kong to welcome back global tourists to visit the Chinese southern city after more than three years of Covid restrictions.
Hong Kong received some 600,000 visitors last year, only 1 per cent of its 2019 figure./.
