Hong Kong-Ha Noi air route resumed after nearly three-year hiatus
VGP - Viet Nam Airlines announced that it restarted commercial flight from Ha Noi to Hong Kong on December 11 after nearly three years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the first period, the national flag carrier will re-operate the route with a frequency of three round-trip flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
Viet Nam Airlines is the first Vietnamese carrier to reopen regular commercial flights with Hong Kong.
Return flights between Hong Kong and Ha Noi were suspended from February 6, 2020, due to Hong Kong's strict COVID-19 prevention and control policy.
On December 9, Viet Nam Airlines' flight VN 502 departed from Ho Chi Minh City to Guangzhou at 9:55 am, marking the carrier's first regular commercial flight between Viet Nam and China after a nearly three-year disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic as China has relaxed COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
Viet Nam Airlines will officially reopen several routes between Viet Nam and China to meet the travel demand of passengers.
The carrier has restored services to most international destinations, bringing the number of flights operating across its international network to more than 600 flights per week, equal to 70 percent of the total number before the pandemic./.
