The imported risk of COVID-19 is really high and worrying, stressed Nguyen.
He said that competent agencies and local authorities have taken drastic measures to prevent COVID-19 importation and prepared response plans in case the pandemic spreads widely, especially in the Southwest region.
The health ministry set up five delegations led by the Minister and his deputies to inspect COVID-19 response work in the Mekong Delta localities as new SARS-CoV-2 strains found in India and the UK may penetrate into Viet Nam from Cambodia.
Nguyen called on citizens to seriously implement the ministry’s 5K campaign message: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration), saying these measures are decisive factor to reduce community transmissions./.
