HCMC to set off fireworks on Reunification Day
VGP - Ho Chi Minh City planned to hold several firework displays on April 30 in celebration of the 47th anniversary of the National Reunification Day.
The municipal People's Committee approved 15-minute high-altitude fireworks from 9 p.m. at the Thu Thiem Tunnel between Districts 1 and 2 and Dam Sen Park in District 11.
Water transport vehicles will not be allowed to enter surrounding areas leading to the Thu Thiem Tunnel from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm on April 30.
In addition to fireworks, other cultural events will get underway to mark the occasion, including a photo exhibition, an incense-offering ceremony at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, and art performances.
As reported earlier, the Government decided that public workers will have four days off from April 30 to May 3./.
