HCMC leader receives Governor of Chiba, Japan

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong  receives Governor of Chiba Prefecture, Kensaku Morita, Ho Chi Minh City, November 20, 2018

At the reception, Governor of Chiba Prefecture Kensaku Morita affirmed that the Chiba government is ready to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese people to study, work and live in the locality, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two sides.

In turn, Phong   said Ho Chi Minh City is pleased to welcome Japanese enterprises and organisations, particularly Chiba Prefecture, to visit and seek cooperation and investment opportunities.

He also stated that Ho Chi Minh City and Japan’s Chiba Prefecture should enhance their cooperation in the fields of economics and culture, as well as exchanging in urban planning and management, creative urban development and labour.

Currently, Chiba Prefecture has 48 investment projects in Ho Chi Minh City, including several from many major businesses in the retail sector, such as Ion and Ministop.

Japan is the fifth largest investor in Ho Chi Minh City with around 1,200 projects worth over US$4 billion in total.
