HCM City: CPI in August up 0.05%
VGP - Ho Chi Minh City's Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August increased 0.05% from July.
According to the municipal Statistics Office, the City’s CPI increased by 4.93% in the first eight months of this year.
Five out of the 11 baskets of goods witnessing price hikes for the month were foodstuffs and dining-out services 0.32%, drinking and cigarettes 0.05%, garment and education 0.10% and other goods and services 0.17%.
Four baskets of goods seeing declines during the month included housing, electricity, water and fuel 0.74%, home utensils 0.15%, transport 0.02% and culture and entertainment 0.01%.
Medical service and post and communications remained unchanged.
