Ha Noi Party Secretary named

VGP – Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has been named Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee for the tenure 2016-2020.

Mr. Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat handed over the Politburo's decision to Hai at a ceremony held this morning.

Mr. Hai, aged 57, is native to Quynh Phu District in the northern province of Thai Binh.

He was elected to the Politburo of the 12th Party Central Committee, and has been a member of the Party Central Committee for the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th tenures.

He was appointed Deputy Minister of Industry (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade) in July 1997.

From April 1998 to August 200, he was the general director of EVN, the country’s power utility.

From August 2000 to July 2002, he returned to the Ministry of Industry as Deputy inister. He became Minister of Industry in August 2002.

In August 2007, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister./.
