Ha Noi-Moscow air route resumed after three-year suspension
VGP – The national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines has resumed the direct air route between Ha Noi and Russia's Moscow after three-year suspension.
The first resumed flight carrying 254 passengers departed Ha Noi-based Noi Bai International Airport on May 8 and arrived at Sheremetyevo International Airport at 15:40 (local time).
There will be two direct flights per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. From July 2025, the frequency is expected to increase to three flights per week.
The resumption of direct air service will open up trade and people-to-people exchanges and contribute to cementing trust between the two countries.
It symbolizes the increasingly close and growing cooperation between the two sides, said Viet Nam Airlines General Director Le Hong Ha.
Viet Nam is now exempting visas for Russian citizens for up to 45 days regardless of passport types and purposes of entry.
Vietnamese citizens can apply for Russia's e-visas just within four days. These policies along with the resumption of direct air service will help boost tourism growth right in 2025./.
