Ha Noi eyes GRDP growth of 8.3% this year

VGP - Ha Noi is striving to achieve GRDP growth rate of around 8.3 percent this year, laying foundation for the city to accelerate annual growth rate to 11 percent during 2025-2030 period, said Standing Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong.

October 20, 2025 9:57 AM GMT+7

Nguyen said that the city targets to raise the capital city's per capita GRDP from US$6,200 in 2024 to US$12,000 by 2030, turning Ha Noi into a growth hub and a leading driver of the Northern economic region and the country.

He highlighted three set of key solutions for the city to realize these goals, including improving human resource quality, promoting science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, and completing institutions while reducing input costs for businesses to enhance labor productivity and foster sustainable growth.

Ha Noi aims to become a multi-polar and multi-center city, rather than concentrating all functions in the inner city, with a focus on developing satellite urban areas such as Hoa Lac (high-tech zone and a centralized university area), Dong Anh–Me Linh–Soc Son (a smart city), Son Tay, and Phu Xuyen (a hub for goods transshipment and high-speed rail).

Regarding spatial development planning, Nguyen held that Ha Noi will adopt the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model, an urban development approach linked to urban railway lines, with 90 TOD stations serving as key development hubs./.
