Ha Noi begins house to house vaccination amid daily COVID-19 spike

VGP – Several districts in Ha Noi have begun house to house vaccination for shut-ins, disabled and the elderly in a bid to protect the most vulnerable citizens amid daily COVID-19 spike.

Dong Da district, a disease hotspot labeled Level 3 in terms of pandemic risk level, the program was kicked started on December 30, 2021 to inoculate 1,000 people who are not able to travel to vaccination sites.

On January 6, Tran Thi Nhi Ha, Director of the municipal Department of Health (DoH) reported that Ha Noi had secured adequate COVID-19 vaccines to inject third shots for residents.

The DoH asked relevant agencies to speed up the vaccination of the booster jabs for the elderly, people with underlying diseases and high-risk groups by administering vaccine shots for them at home.

Ha Noi ranked second after Ho Chi Minh City in terms of third doses given, 1.1 million additional doses and 320,000 booster doses.

In addition, over 95% of the capital city’s adult population have been fully vaccinated. The rate of critically ill and ill patients and fatality are 1.5% and 0.26%, respectively.

The city also stockpiled nearly 19,000 bags of Molnupiravir, an antiviral drug for mild patients for home treatment. So far, Ha Noi houses over 37,000 active cases including 27,000 at places of residence./.
