Ha Noi among 21 best winter vacations: U.S. News & World Report
VGP - The capital city of Ha Noi ranked 6th among 21 best winter vacations selected by U.S. News & World Report.
According to the American media company publishing news, Viet Nam's capital city offers beautiful weather come winter. Daytime temperatures comfortably rest in the 60s and 70s, and rain showers are infrequent.
"You'll be able to visit top attractions like the Temple of Literature and indulge in a steaming bowl of pho (Viet Nam's most popular kind of noodle soup) for dinner," the media company suggested.
A wintertime visit also brings the opportunity to experience some of Ha Noi's best events, such as the Tet Festival (which celebrates the Vietnamese Lunar New Year every January or February) and the Perfume Pagoda Festival (a Buddhist pilgrimage that takes place every February), the U.S. News & World Report recommended.
Earlier, Ha Noi jumped from 54th position in 2019 to 27th in this year's Telegraph Travel Awards, which ranks best cities in the world based on readers' votes.
The Vietnamese capital has moved up 20 notches to 129th position out of 173 cities in the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s livability ranking this year, making it one of the top five biggest risers.
Ha Noi and Hue (in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue), were voted among the 10 winners in the "Best Cities" category at the 2023 Luxury Awards Asia Pacific from U.S. travel magazine Travel+Leisure.
Ha Noi welcomed more than 2.6 million visitors in the first seven months of this year, 2.3 times higher than the same period in 2022, according to the Ha Noi Statistics Office.
During the January-July period, the city welcomed 135,200 visitors from the U.S., 5.5 times higher than the same period last year and 106,400 visitors from Japan, 3.3 times higher than the corresponding period in 2022.
The city also received increasing numbers of visitors from the markets of France, the UK, Thailand, Germany, Malaysia, and Singapore./.
