Ha Noi allows elementary students to return to school from April 6
VGP - The capital city of Ha Noi has allowed about one million students of grades 1-6 in all 30 districts to return to in-person classes from April 6.
According to a recently-issued decision of the municipal People's Committee, kindergarteners will still stay at home.
Schools must meet safety requirements for COVID-19 prevention in accordance with the guidance of the municipal Departments of Health and Education.
Besides, they should develop a response plan when a COVID-19 case is detected at school.
Since May 2021, over 2.2 million kindergartners and students of Ha Noi have had to switch to online learning due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
Last November, the city allowed 9th graders to return to school and two weeks later, 12th graders.
Students from 7th to 11th grades returned to school on February 8 and were followed soon after by primary school and 6th-grade students on the city's outskirts.
At a Government's press briefing held on April 4, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that 92.17 percent of students nationwide are subject to in-person classes.
As Ha Noi allows 1st-6th grade students to go back to school from April 6, the proportion will rise to 97 percent.
