Greek President begins official visit to Viet Nam

VGP – President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou landed in Ha Noi on Sunday afternoon, starting her four-day official visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou arrives in Ha Noi, May 15, 2022.

During her visit, President Sakellaropoulou is scheduled to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and fallen soldiers at Heroic Martyrs' Monument in the capital city.

Sakellaropoulou will hold talks with the Vietnamese counterpart and meet with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.

The visit is expected to contribute to consolidating and enhancing political trust and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.

Viet Nam and Greece set up diplomatic relations on April 15, 1975. Greece opened its embassy in Ha Noi in March 2007 while Viet Nam opened its embassy in Athens in December 2010./.
