Gov't to review 10-year implementation of Convention against transnational organized crime
VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has signed a decision approving a plan to review 10-year implementation of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and Protocols.
The Government will also review the implementation of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children.
The move aims to evaluate the implementation outcomes of the Convention and the Protocol; raise the awareness, role and responsibility of ministries, sectors and relevant agencies in deployment of the Convention and the Protocol.
The Convention and the Protocols thereto were adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on November 15, 2000.
The Convention and the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children took effect in Viet Nam on August 8, 2012.
On April 18, 2013, the Prime Minister of Viet Nam approved a plan to implement the Convention and the Prototol through April 18, 2023./.
