Gov't requests immediate use of flycams for early detection of landslides in Ha Giang province
VGP – The Government has requested immediate use of flycams for early detection of landslide risks in the northern province of Ha Giang following recent severe landslides there.
In its latest official telegram, the Government urged the Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Transport to coordinate with administration of Ha Giang province in deploying flycams to early detect landslide risks and prepare response measures, including evacuating citizens and ensuring safety for rescue workers.
The Government also tasked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to closely monitor natural disaster prevention and control work, with a focus on landslide, flash flood and flooding in Northern Viet Nam's mid-land and mountainous region.
As reported earlier, two landslides occurred in Ha Giang's Bac Quang district on Sunday morning, leaving three residents dead and missing and four others injured.
One of the rainfall-induced landslides on the national route No. 2 in the area of Viet Vinh commune resulted in a large volume of mud and rock cascading down onto residential areas and the roadway.
Five residential houses collapsed and six vehicles, including a passenger bus, two trucks, and three cars were swept away./.
