Gov’t sets up delegation for int’l economic and trade negotiations

The delegation shall be headed by Minister of Industry and Trade.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister of Finance, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs shall serve as deputy heads of the delegation.

Members of the delegation include leaders from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the State Bank of Viet Nam, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The delegation shall assist the Prime Minister in coordinating ministries, agencies, and localities in negotiating, signing, ratifying, and implementing international economic and trade treaties and agreements.

It is responsible for advising the Prime Minister in formulating overall negotiation strategies and plans in accordance with Viet Nam’s national interests and socio-economic development orientations.

The delegation shall consult with business communities and relevant stakeholders during the negotiation process in a bid to protect Viet Nam’s economic and trade interests.

The delegation shall also coordinate with ministries and agencies in monitoring, evaluating and proposing measures to address issues arising in the implementation of international economic and trade treaties and agreements.
