Gov't adopts plan to implement recommendations of UN Committee on the Rights of the Child
VGP - The Government has adopted an action plan to implement the recommendations of the United Nations (UN) Committee on the Rights of the Child.
The action plan clarifies the responsibilities of ministries, agencies, and local authorities for implementing the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
The action plan aims to enhance coordination among relevant agencies in ensuring the rights of children towards a cohesive, comprehensive, and effective manner, ensuring the best interests of children.
The Government requests ministries, agencies, and local authorities to review and develop plans for the implementation of the recommendations, effectively integrate these plans with the implementation of programs, plans, projects, and policies related to children, and regularly monitor and assess the implementation of children's rights.
Major tasks, solutions
The Government requests that the following major tasks and solutions should be carried out:
(1) Conduct research, review, and complete the legal and policy system to promote the implementation of children's rights in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and other relevant international conventions and treaties related to children to which Viet Nam is signatories.
(2) Promote communication, education, and social advocacy efforts to raise awareness, responsibility, knowledge, and skills in implementing children's rights.
(3) Enhance the professional capacity and skills of the staff working in child protection and welfares at all levels, strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, and carry out activities and models for child care, education, and protection.
(4) Develop a service system to ensure the implementation of children's rights and address child-related issues.
(5) Monitor and inspect the implementation of children's rights and issues related to children, and develop and improve the quality of child-related databases, ensuring they are linked with the national population database and specialized sectoral databases.
(6) Prioritize the allocation of funding for the implementation of children's rights and the resolution of child-related issues in accordance with the current regulations.
(7) Strengthen international cooperation to ensure the implementation of children's rights in accordance with international standards and practices./.
